Lincoln to Yorkshire

We are now in Manchester and it is time to blog about last week in Yorkshire. We headed first to Lincoln to see the cathedral. We did a wonderful walking tour around the town checking out the Roman ruins and other historical sights and then we did a tour of the cathedral. Both tours were very worthwhile.

We then drove on to our little cottage in the Yorkshire Dales at Suffield.
The next day, Sunday 16/6, we headed to Bempton Cliffs to see if we could spot a puffin. We did see a few and the camera was able to get really close!

As it was Sunday, we just had to have a baked lunch in a pub along the way. In the afternoon we headed to Scarborough. The sun did come out but we weren't too tempted by the beach.

On Monday we headed to Goathland (or Aidensfield) for any Heartbeat fans (like me). It was fun to see the station at Grosmont as the steam train came in and then to see the little town square of Goathland, the station, the garage and the pub.

We then headed to Whitby for fish and chips for lunch and then had a boat ride and a wander around this lovely town.

As we were close, we then went to Robin Hood's Bay too.

What a busy few days with so many lovely places to visit.

Thanks for sharing your photos, it looks like a fantastic trip. Lovely to see more than the main tourist attractions.
