Lyon....

Finally, we are in our apartment in Paris and have wifi again. There was none on the barge which was a bit disappointing. Thus I have a lot to catch up on and it is amazing how quickly you forget what you have done and where you have been. I did manage the bike tour which was amazing for unfit me. I was almost the slowest but managed to do 4 of the riding days. I will tell you more soon after I write about Lyon. We stayed in a very handy hotel right in the centre of Lyon.
On the first afternoon we had a wander around the old town.
We visited the lovely church near the old town and then wandered across the bridge home to get some dinner nearby.

The next day we caught the funicular railway up to the amazing church, Notre-Dame de Fouviere. You enter to a lower church and it is lovely but then you head up the stairs and there is another unebelievably ornate sanctuary. Just amazing.

The view from up there was very special too.

We then went on the funicular again and visited the Theatres Gallo-Romaines. This amazing Roman amphitheatre is still used for concerts and shows!

We also visited the Musee Gallo-Romain and it was filled with so many wonderful Roman artifacts.

In the evening we headed back to the old town to have delicious dinner at this lovely restaurant where the chef cooked the dessert pancakes outside.

So many photos that it is hard to choose!!!! Hope that gives you a little taste of Lyon.
