A visit to the Home Patch

Last Thursday, Brenda, Caroline and I headed to Bathurst to visit Anni Downs' gorgeous shop, The Home Patch. As always it was a delight to visit as every corner is full of tempting goodies! We were very lucky as Anni was there on Friday so we chatted with her which was lovely. She even gave us some sneak peaks of some new fabric that is coming and  some new projects she is working on.

It was especially lovely to see Nature's Journey in real life! Made me very motivated to get going on my blocks.
Check out some of these displays.

Just had to finish my diamond applique so that this month's blocks for the Stitch-a-long are done.

A few finishes...

Spent a bit of time crocheting and knitting last week and finished my necklace from my Japanese crochet book and a cardigan for Alice.

I had forgotten how long it takes to sew up a cardigan. I have started a vest for one of the twins! NO SLEEVES! Mind you, I have to make 2 vests so much the same time as a cardigan probably. I hunted for buttons in the same shape and different colours in my stash but had to buy some at Hobbysew yesterday as these flowers were just right.
My other sewing has been April's blocks for the Stitch-a-long. Here are all the applique blocks done. I just need to get some diamond papers to do the paper piecing block and I will be up to date.

Stitching and family

Karen was busy stitching on her lovely bright cushion on Wednesday. Looks great!
These Yoko Saito Mystery blocks take a while to applique and embroider. Here is block 4.

This block has been stitched for quite a while so finally sewed it together yesterday. This one will be for little Alice.

Here is the little miss with the gorgeous crocheted blanket that her mummy has made! She followed the pattern and colours set out on the Attic 24 blog.

I just had to share these lovely pictures of Ma when she came to visit us recently.

Stitching on the Lake Day 2

Fiona and I enjoyed preparing for our second stitching day in Canberra last Saturday. Here are the samples once again all ready for the day.
The bags were full of kits and patterns and there were lollies on the tables too!
Terrie came too and set up a lovely stall from Hobbysew once again. We all enjoy a little shopping throughout the day.

Clare came along on Saturday to run the stall.
There wasn't a lot of time to take photos but here are just a few of the busy stitching ladies.

Thanks to Lynne and Sammi, the food was delicious once again. We were very spoilt. There was fruit and a fig loaf for morning tea.

Lunch was lovely but I ate mine before taking a picture!! It was a delicious fritatta and salad and then there was a very yummy semifreddo for dessert. Afternoon tea was a very special orange cake.
I certainly didn't need dinner after all that eating! It was lovely to catch up with our regular stitchers and to meet quite a few new ones. Thanks to everyone for coming and taking part.

Autumn is here and family time

Autumn is definitely here this week with cool temperatures and lots of rain. Ma and I went for a little walk and enjoyed these colourful trees and some unusual gumnuts.

We have also had some colourful visitors this week.
We have had some lovely family times. We girls went out for coffee in the city.

Pa managed to get some nice pictures of us and Alice. This is 4 generations!

Time is flying by and our second Stitching on the Lake day is this coming Saturday. The kits are all made and I am sure Lynne is cooking delicious goodies for us ready for Saturday. If you haven't checked out the pictures of the projects you will find them on my March 23rd and 24th posts or visit Fiona's blog as she has posted the pictures and information again.

Happy Easter, some stitching and a lovely gift

Happy Easter to all of you. I hope you are enjoying a lovely rest over the holidays. I am enjoying a the long weekend and it is very special as Ma is visiting. It has been lovely seeing her catching up with the little men. She will see little Alice on Monday when she, and Mummy and Daddy, get back from holidays.

It has been fun to work on some other projects over the weekend. I haven't done any blocks of this quilt since last year! Must straighten the windows on that back house!!!

Lovely to see Roni's hardanger on Wednesday. This is the front.
Just check out the lovely canvas work back!!!
It is also my birthday this weekend and Fiona gave me this amazing gift. We are sharing the United Stitches patterns and they are all printed on which is great. Love the Tilda tin too.
